STUART BISHOP BArch (hons), DipArch, RIBA, RIAS
Stuart is the founding Director of SB Architects and the main point of contact for the practice. Stuart has over 20 years experience as a chartered architect, working across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, office, hotels and, sports and leisure. In recent years, Stuart has led teams delivering large scale mixed tenure residential developments including several award winning and nationally recognised projects including the Pennywell Regeneration in Edinburgh and for clients such as Robertson Group, Urban Union, CALA Homes, CCG, CEC, Fife Council and various Housing Associations.
LAURA BENNETT MA (hons), MArch, RIBA, RIAS
Laura is a chartered architect with over 17 years experience in the industry. She has worked for some of Scotland's best known architectural firms including Simpson and Brown Architects, one of the UK’s leading conservation practices. She has a breadth of experience across a number of sectors including rural housing developments, farm-steading conversions, the restoration and conversion of grade A listed buildings, hotel renovations, extensions to historic houses and high specification new build houses and extensions. Laura excels at the successful management of projects, ensuring that quality designs are delivered on time and to budget.
CHRIS MATSON BArch (hons), DipArch, RIBA, RIAS
Chris is a chartered architect and urban designer with over 20 years experience working across a range of sectors and scale of project. He is experienced in high-quality residential projects, listed buildings, small-scale commercial developments and Urban Design. Chris and Stuart have worked alongside each other for several years in previous practice, delivering large scale mixed use projects including Pennywell Town Centre, comprising 190 affordable homes, commercial & retail units, an Early Years Centre and library. Chris works for SB Architects on a consulting basis.
KEVIN MCAVINCHEY BArch (hons), RIBA, RIAS
Kevin is agraduate of Edinburgh College of Art's Architecture School (2003) and an Urban Design graduate of the University of Edinburgh (2004). Kevin's career includes working on some of the most prominent buildings in Edinburgh, including the Scottish Parliament Visitor Extension, Holyrood Student Accommodation and the multi-award-winning Anglia Ruskin University in Cambridge. Kevin worked alongside both Stuart and Chris in previous practice, delivering projects including Abbey Park Hotel and Student Residencies, the Forest Walk residential development for Belway Homes, and redevelopment of the former IBM factory site at Greenock for Advance Construction. Kevin works for SB Architects on a consulting basis.
CATHERINE PALMER BArch (hons), DipArch
Catherine trained at the Mackintosh School of Architecture, Glasgow and completed a year on exchange at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm in 2011/12. In addition to her architectural training, Catherine has a BA(Hons) in Visual Communication, gained at Glasgow School of Art. Catherine excels at supporting project architects and producing graphics visualisations. Catherine works for SB Architects on a consulting basis.
KADUM MAHBOBA BArch (hons), DipArch
Kadum has 4 years post graduate experience as an architectural assistant and has worked in a range of sectors including housing and education. Kadum has expertise in emerging digital technology, with a keen interest in 3D BIM modelling (Revit) and 3D visualisation techniques. Kadum worked alongside Stuart, Chris and Kevin in previous practice, delivering projects including Pennywell Town Centre, a mixed use development of retail units, Early Years Centre, library and 190 new affordable rent apartments. Kadum works for SB Architects on a consulting basis.
