STUART BISHOP, BArch(hons) DipArch, RIBA, RIAS MANAGING DIRECTOR
Stuart is the founding Director of SBA and the main point of contact for the practice. Stuart has over 20 years experience as a chartered architect, working across a range of sectors including residential, commercial, office, hotels and, sports and leisure. In recent years, Stuart has led teams delivering large scale mixed tenure residential developments including several award winning and nationally recognised projects including the Pennywell Regeneration in Edinburgh, a multi-phase project comprising over 750 new homes.
LAURA BENNETT MA (hons), MArch, RIBA, RIAS DIRECTOR
Laura is a chartered architect with over 17 years experience in the industry. She has worked for some of Scotland's best known architectural firms including Simpson and Brown Architects, one of the UK’s leading conservation practices. She has a breadth of experience across a number of sectors including rural housing developments, farm-steading conversions, the restoration and conversion of grade A listed buildings, hotel renovations, extensions to historic houses and high specification new build houses and extensions.
JACKIE WALSH, BSc(hons) DipArch, ARB ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT
Jackie has 20 years experience predominately in the residential sector but overlapping with work on commercial conversions and land development. Jackie is mainly involved in house type development, Planning & Warrant phases, liaising with other consultants and supporting the onsite build team with ongoing progress. Jackie worked for 12 years with APD (now T.A.P). There she was responsible for all stages of work on the international climbing centre and various high spec residential extensions and alterations. Jackie works for SBA on a consulting basis.
FRASER WALSH, BSc (Arch) BArch(hons), ARB ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT
A Chartered Architect with two decades of experience leading multi-disciplined teams in the design and delivery of award winning residential and commercial construction projects. For 7 years Fraser worked for CALA Homes, delivering bespoke developments across central Edinburgh, acting as architectural lead on flagship projects including the award-winning conversion of the Grade B listed Boroughmuir High School and the Grade C listed former Royal Blind School to 21 apartments and 26 new build townhouses. Prior to this he worked for the Scottish Government as Policy Lead & Technical Author responsible for the development of Building Regulations and supporting guidance for Energy, Sustainability, Climate Change and Building Resilience.
CHRIS MATSON, BArch(hons) DipArch, RIBA, RIAS ASSOCIATE CONSULTANT
Chris is a chartered architect and urban designer with over 20 years experience working across a range of sectors and scale of project. He is experienced in high-quality residential projects, listed buildings, small-scale commercial developments and Urban Design. Chris and Stuart have worked alongside each other for several years in previous practice, delivering large scale mixed use projects including Pennywell Town Centre, comprising 190 affordable homes, commercial & retail units, an Early Years Centre and library. Chris works for SBA on a consulting basis.
